Hello! Typing with one hand is fun! So is eating a curry puff! Since I came back home after a few hours of really hot soccer after school, I'll talk a little about that!
On the Straits Times headlines I read: "England will win World Cup" as boldly predicted by Sven-Goran Eriksson. Well after reading the article itself I have come to no conclusion. However, the England team seem very much to be anticipating this prediction come true. They also seem to like Wayne Rooney very much indeed. So are most England supporters.
On to a more exciting topic!
If you are not visually handicapped in any way you would have noticed the lovely piano keys on the top of the page by now. Yes, music is fun! If you, for any reason, despise, shun, or Hate any genre of music in any case, I advice you to skip the section ahead. But you can read it anyway. Music is fun!
"What is music?" This question was once posed to the string orchestra which I was having sectionals with. The questioner was our beloved conductor. I should keep his identity in check though. He brought us to a halt and requested the answer.
Skipping all the long dead silences, mental blocks, involutary head scratching and sporadic answer spouting, he was still unable to pull out the answer from such a musical crowd. Well, someone got a little of the idea in the end, but it was the conductor that gave us the round answer. Logically he explained to us how to piece together all the relevant answers we had volunteered.
" What do we do in music? We make...sound! However, if there was just sound, then it would just be...noise.(Noise -not equal to-music, with of course the exception of some genres of music) What do we do to the sounds we make? (skipping all the prolonged pondering) Rhythm is a good answer, but we need something simpler. Time! Therefore, the answer we are looking for to this question is with this two simple words joined together with a preposition. Music is sound in time!"
With that enlightening conversation, we turned back and continued with our sectionals in the routine monotonous fashion. And of course some new ideas.
